Finally I’ve had the chance to updatethe WordPress software here. I’m quite glad that we’ve got already access to the web via ISDN. The entire show took me 45 Minutes including all kinds of downloads – probably the ISDN isn’t as fast as it should be. The speed went down quite often. Nevertheless, it’s been quite the job to wait patiently for all files to be uploaded and initialized just to run properly. I just beg for a time without the need to upload files to the webserver until we’ll have the DSL!

Als ich soeeben dem Pepino eine Antwort schrieb, wollte ich dafür nach „Bad Behavior“ auf MEX über die Suchfunktion im oberen Teil des Layouts suchen. Jedoch erhielt ich einen 404 Fehler von der Kommentarseite aus – und stellte fest, dass im themes/Blix/header.php die Action der Suchanfrage auf $_Server[‚PHP_SELF‘] zeigt
(z.B. http://www.m-e-x.de/blog/index.php/archives/2005/06/03/
wordpress-anti-spam-plugin-bad-behavior-update-auf-101/?s=behavior), was aber nicht die eigentliche Suchroutine ansteuert, die im index.php erst dann aktiviert ist, wenn keine der üblichen Blog-Funktionen aufgerufen wird.

Ob das nun ein echter Fehler vom Blix Theme ist, weiss ich nicht genau – aber vielleicht magst Du ja mal kurz rüberschaun, Robert?
Am Samstag fielen einige Unregelmäßigkeiten bei Google auf, die sicherlich a) bei manchem ein Schmunzeln hervorrufen, b) anderen den Frust beim täglichen Googleing immens steigern und c) so einigen Webseitenbetreibern das Einkommen durch AdSense schmälern konnten. Wer also seine AdSense Auswertungen noch nicht angeschaut hat, sollte lieber diesen Monat auf den Kauf der neuen Home-Cinema-Anlage verzichten. ;)
Okay, die Überschrift trügt. Es ist nicht für immer weg, aber anscheinend gibt es einen Bug oder es sind unangekündigte Wartungszeiten. Wie kommt man auf soetwas? Naja, in meinen abonnierten RSS Feeds fiel mir auf, dass heute anscheinend Bloglines nicht mehr so möchte, wie es sollte. Wer hat noch Probleme – nun so ungefähr jeder auf der Welt ist am klagen und jammern… und ich jetzt auch. Zum Abschluss mal ein Screenshot vom Dilemma – herrlich! :(
UPDATE: Bloglines Outage
This morning, one of our user databases suffered a failure that wasn’t detected by our monitoring systems. This resulted in the inability of people to log into their Bloglines accounts. The database has been reset and no data was lost. We apologize for the issue and we’re looking at ways to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
As featured on NoNoFollow.net, a new discussion has centered on the recent matter events caused by Google’s plan to implement the method of filtering links for their pagerank and searchindex systems.
As the argument rel=“nofollow“ will only restrict the robots to continously follow links, any blog can contain further spam as the filtering for spam can only be implemented in the blog software manually, via a plugin or directly on the side of the blog service provider. Almost too easy, an automatically created link can be formatted with the nofollow argument. This can be done secretly in any message system or bullitin board software without noticing the users. It may be used to restrict the number of links within html pages and might affect the pagerank of your own website if you use generic tools like this blogsoftware. On top of this, a human being will not be interested in the differences of normal links and the nofollow links as human beings are usually able to determine whether the link leads towards relevant content or spam.
The whole argument causes the filtering of link, the discrimination of users, changing the idea of the web, the discrimination of weblogs, the dissemination of free speech – all of this is based on the development by only search engine companies and not the W3C (World-Wide-Web Consortium) who should be responsible and decidable in concern of these matters.
In addition to my suggestion concerning the Comments being predefined by your personal Accountinformation, I have to add the following idea: As we all know the possibilities of Comment-Spam found on several blogs throughout the net, its usually a reason of the common Trackback-Ping functionality. To avoid this, a Proof-Code generated by an image should be entered once a user is no officially registered user (or currently not logged in to Blogspirit). Even if there is no Trackback-Ping activated on Blogspirit, its a useful tool to limit the exploitation of the blogs through „lifeless annoyances“.
