I’m back from the beach, and just have to puke on the following question: What do you need to run the upcoming Windows Vista without facing the classic latency problems? Here’s the answer (rumor?) from Microsoft which probably outdates their official statement:

  • Dual-Core-Processor
  • 2 GByte of DDR3 memory
  • 256 MByte RAM Graphics Card
  • SATA2-Festplatte

Since Vista is using 3D vector graphics to calculate the images and graphics on screen, it’s highly advisable to have a high-end machine.

I’ll stick to Windows XP for the near future, and then once I’ve done the Bachelor and actively work on my Master’s degree, I’ll consider buying a new high-end machine. But these requirements above are simply blowing my expenses. The most amazing discovery in concern of DVDs being played on Vistamachines is simply enough of kicking the users: You will probably need a new monitor to watch HDTV since the current systems won’t be truely supported anymore. This means a new stationary PC with a brand new monitor, or a brand new Laptop. On the other hand, I might think of confessing my soul to Apple for this treachery of Microsoft!

The weather is so amazingly wonderful in Flensburg. The temperatures are approximately 27°C and I still want to have a swimming session in the sea. I’m off for now heading to the beach – by bus! ;)

While using my stationary desktop PC, of course I rely on an optical cordless mouse. This morning I strumbled upon a new gadget from Logitech – the intelligent mouse MX610.

This mouse has an integrated microprocessor, and a bi-directional radio communication. The mouse can warn you about a low battery, new emails or instant messages, and the total of 10 buttons enable the user to specify any other functions if necessary. The Logitech MX610 Laser Cordless Mouse will be delivered this month for the price of 49.99 Euros. I believe that’s quite cheap for such a nice gadget. Now this new mouse, and either the Microsoft Keyboard or Optimus Keyboard will integrate my hands with that nifty technology.

Update: Further, the company announced another model, the V400, and by now I’m not sure anymore what to grab up. Either the gadget mouse from above, or the capable mouse which won’t have many problems with different surfaces. I’ve always experienced problems with surfaces, and I’ve been searching for a mouse that could handle it. We’ll see… ;)

Perhaps its just me again, but I cannot determine the current Google PageRank for any website via their Toolbar service. Must be the morning and the lack of caffine, and my love-ramblings probably did the rest ;) And now after yesterday’s re-categorization, I don’t even know where to file this entry. For now, it’s in „Software“, but would „Alerts“ be more useful and userfriendly?

Update
Now its back alive. Am I too fast with these things? I should be more patient and at finally learn to wait five minutes for an internet service to get back online. But then, it is Google? I do believe they have reliable servers – unless the backbones in Germany had to deal with an intense load.

Within the realms of our imagination, a relationship is a quite wonderful miracle for the body, the soul and our mind. Facing the endless joy of love, I’m always engulfed with the maximum of positiveness one can imagine. But being separated from Kat sometimes seems to require a special attention to your emotions. She spent the weekend in Death Valley where nobody can call one up on the mobile phone or simply do some online voip talking via Skype. No, there is nothing but a public phone from which Kat was able to give me calls.

In this situation, what would one say if the feelings betray you? How do you react on external factors that influence you? And how do you achieve your inner balance for the love within you while suffering from the distance almost as much to negate the positiveness of love?

We went out on last Saturday at the Flensburg Honky Tonk to hear live music being played in about 25 different bars and restaurants in the city. Further, of course the group consisting of Lena, Oke, David, Christian, Christoph, Jörn and myself spent a few hours on doing our special-dance-off show in the Deutsches Haus, a larger event hall. Apparently, Lena and I were the only two souls who were suffering from both of our temporary long-distance relationships.

After this long partying event and the masses of lightly dressed girls, at least I knew that my interest in going out was not meeting with all these chicks. Instead of sharing the idea which nearly every male being has during such parties -to get something for the night-, I realized I just went there in order to get rid of Kat from my mind. And as far as I know from Lena, she kind of did the same to have some other thoughts instead those about her boyfriend Jonas.

As soon as I thought about something else, I really did have things in mind which I haven’t thought of for a while. That happened while dancing, but once I closed my eyes (and still moved my body during our show), I continuously thought about Kat. And the more I thought I had fun, the more I thought about her – which was contradictory to the idea of freeing my mind for that evening.

What did this teach me? Actually nothing but a lesson for me which I did not pass. I failed in being strong as everything overcame me last night. I realized I love her more than I can still imagine. But then, fortunately, I realized that already in the past before letting her go to the USA. But within this moment of self-realization, I knew that I can even less survive a relationship if I’m unable to simply call the beloved one. However, I did survive and it is monday. Kat returned already to San Francisco, and I received a mail from her in reply to mine. Finally, I know she’s safe again, and finally we can talk again this evening. But already now I miss being woken up by her call in my night…

Germany’s TV stations distribute the live-feed of the Chancelor Schröder and Candidate Merkel on the web. This is a must-see for anybody who’s being interested in the upcoming elections on September 18th. Until now, both politicians do not offer any useful solution to the problems from which the country is suffering. If at least one side would consider that they cannot undo the problems created by the Kohl Administration in the 90s, and if they would not try to argue with the failures of the other party to reason their legitimation for becoming the government, if and then – then we wouldn’t even have to worry about the stupidity of politics.

Update
The reforms of the taxes as suggested by the CDU seems to be worthless under the considerance of the most basic ideas of economics. They cannot finance their reforms, even if they plot their political and financial course to gain support from the rather non-intelligent voters. Surprisingly, Schroeder has given arguments which simply boost Merkel’s ideas off the paper.

Update – Livechat/Blog
Lautgeben offers a live-blog by using IRC…

To be honest, I don’t understand why Technorati’s Top Searches for the last hour contains the word „Loonatics“ – what is this all about? Are people just mad? Does the blogosphere evolve into nonsense? And do I have nothing else to do? Now I’m tagging that strange word on my own, and if that’s not going to be something special about the Looney Toons from Warner Bros., I don’t know anymore…

Update: Now I found it… it’s an upcoming show called Loonatics Unleashed. ;)

Two weeks after relaunching the MikeSchnoor.com, this rather tasteful fresh look of yellow-orange within a blue border has established itself among the users and of course inside of my mind. However, I noticed one major problem. While the layout appears to be somewhat attractive to the eye, the content suffers from the variousness of topics. It was time to separate the whole categories and divide them to fit four major areas.

At first, the category named The Professionals covers all topics on which we’re at least trying to give a critical opinion. It includes Marketing to hint at special events and promotions in the national and global market (or just nonsense created by the companies), Media-Zone which is designed to counter or approach the mainstream media and their news reporting, Offtopic to handle anything that truely disturbs one coming from companies, and Politics to significantly show an alternative to the thoughts about the ongoing mischief of politicians and their politics.

The next main category is named The Show. This is not an ongoing striptease, but the area where two people have their thoughts about themselves and their life. This is truely an egoistic, paraneual and symbolic area. First of all, one major category about myself is considered to be the Ego-Mania – the title says it all. However, Party Radar covers the more or less recent reportings of what I do at night – if it’s worthy to be published online, and Philosophy covers some deeper thoughts and leaves them burried. One by now most important category is Relationship to summarize thoughts about love, life and the woman and her boytoy. Further, Travels includes anything that is about traveling this planet – true, there’s currently an intensive lack of content. As next, some temporary categories such as Abspecken, Media-Cast and Music Clash may exist there. The first category is solely written in German and explains my continuous withdrawal from food, fatness and unhealthyness, and the second one is about anything I do with video editing and publishing, while the last is a semi-existent category for Music. I can already expect a „Books“ and „Movies“ category there…

Here we come, here we go in The Sphere. This is about all kinds of techie buzz and our bloggish after-life. The Blogosphere is meant to be what the name already says as a place for the blog life, with the only exception of a special category for Live Blogging. The other categories like Design, Digital Future, Software, Technology and Web serve their purpose of reporting news. In the end, the whole Sphere seems to be news reporting. One of my favorites, Telavision must still develop: It is designed to cover my „pick of the week“ (or day) if I preferably post about it. The Sammelsurium is a tragic category which is abused to publish anything like these quizzies, tests and online gadget formulars – where else does that junk fit? Last but not least the External Posts keep all postings of ourselves in other blogs – we don’t want to loose them, or do we?

But since Kat and myself are students, one category is important for us: The Study helps us to record anything related to the University and our (un-)doing as students. For the daily life, the Unicum Akademie keeps track of the nonsense, Publications include our graded term papers or works, and Management reflects our future and anything related to managing successful a student’s life with and without nonsense.

There you go, dear reader… let’s praise you can extract some useful information out of the MikeSchnoor.com. And if you cannot understand this at all, please keep in mind: Ask us. Its for free. ;)

An amazing video, and the message is so true. In a recent live fundraiser tv-feed for the victims of the Hurricane Katrina, the recent winner of the MTV Video Music Awards Kanye West said the following: George Bush doesn’t care about black people! – and co-moderator Mike Myers‘ face was priceless. Even Chris Tucker looked quite shocked as he noticed he was cut-in after the immediate cut from Kanye’s statement. And the problem is: Yes, Bush does not care at all for them. And the media are doing no less than poking the fire.

Watch the video at Pixelmd.com or check other mirrors. I guess „the suspect is a black male“ is probably one of the most likely said sentence in New Orleans‘ police radio.
