Its still dark outside. The bed was warm and comfy. It was! By now its 7.25 a.m. and both of us are ready to run to the city hall in order to hand in some documents. I hate to wake up that early, but Katharina is seemingly enjoying to power up during the night. The only thing that woke me up was a cup of good coffee with milk. We will embark to the cold outside very soon… bear us!

On the weekend, Jonas and I managed to buy the ressources to carpenter the halogen lights which give light to our bottle parade. It is so amazing ;)

I should not forget to read my daily list of blogs for more than 24 hours. I received approximately 500 new posts upon updating the list of 200 feeds. Nevertheless, we’ve had our week of joyful entertainment and I believe we’ll be scheduled back to full force in the coming hours.

We are so desperately sorry, but in order to keep up living together, to keep our relationship as it is, we are kept busy and don’t really have any senseful idea to blog about. In fact, we’re mostly offline and enjoy our lives as much as we can. Love makes us powerful – more powerful than the internet will ever be. Stay tuned until… um, please bear with us!

I know there haven’t been any updates here, but I was busy. Reality kicked back in, and I prefer it that way. On the other hand, this weekend is a long one because of the Anniversary of German Unification. Nevertheless, here’s a small piece of info about what happened!

Yesterday morning I woke up prior to 8 a.m. after being called up by Katharina from Heathrow Airport in London. She was about to arrive at 10.25 a.m. in Hamburg at Terminal 1 of the Fuhlsbüttel Airport. I had lots of time to pick her up, and planned to leave Flensburg after an about hour doing the dishes of the last night and having a long lasting shower.

Once I was in the car and refueled at the next gast station, I managed to drive the way towards Hamburg. But I ended up in a minor traffic jam that caused me to arrive about 15 minutes after she checked out at Terminal 2. Finally we hugged ourselves, kissed a lot and hurried back to the car not to let the first free 20 minutes become expired.

In the end, we had some minor shopping trip to IKEA where we bought a chest of drawers – just before we had to face a few major traffic jams on our way back home. What a wonderful night it was ;)

Yesterday I finally found time to install Katharina’s shelf in our kitchen. After our previously unsuccessful attempts to drill two simple holes into the wall, I put alot energy into finishing the job. This is the final result, and I am so proud of it! Further, I drove in the nail for another of Kat’s pictures and cleaned our appartment. Since she’s returning on upcoming Saturday, I had to do a few things. However, two pictures remain due to my lack of inspiration on where to hang them, and our textile sky for the bed hasn’t been installed, too. More to do, more to work… what won’t you do for the woman of your heart? ;)

For the past weeks, my girlfriend Katharina has stayed for her internship in San Francisco, CA. The internship ended as planned in last week, and now she and her buddy Rick -whom she knew from her time as au-pair in the states- have traveled for a the final week to Grand Canyon. It’s amazing there, but she moaned on Skype about not being able in the city this weekend. Well I can tell, there’s at least one thing she’d love to attend, and for me that’d be two things:

Event 1: The Loveparade
This party originated in Berlin in 1989 and became a major part of our capital city. However, the organizers were denied to hold the Loveparade in the city – and went off to other places. According to CNET, This beat-driven stampede of raving techno music made its first step to San Francisco last year. Since Kat told me already, she’s been participating in one of these parties in the past, that’d be probably her number one event for the weekend.

Event 2: Webzine
On that blogger convention, I’d have went straight to tried to get into talks with Matt for the fun of it! That’d be my second event, of which I doubt that Katharina would have enjoyed it as much. She’s such a nature driven woman that I sometimes wonder how she survived her internship in that box office ;) Nevertheless, I wonder why I haven’t found any other useful article about that Webzine event in my daily feeds.

I can identify myself with this wonderful mission. The following graphic shows the basic result of the experiment, and its ridiculously true.

I’m just glad that I haven’t ever experienced such a dramatic moment of shopping mania with Katharina. So far, we’ve always been able to get things done without wasting money, time and our nerves! Who knows what will happen with the upcoming Christmas-Shopping and our trip to IKEA? I’m scared… and more about this gappish crusade can be found on Basicthinking and Exciting Commerce (both in german).

I honestly do not understand the true meaning of this word, however it is listed as number one at Technorati’s index. All I know that I’m somehow affected by this, because its my first name Mike being spelled backwards to become Ekim. Very funny tho – I’m so abusive to Ekim now. For this, I declare Ekim to be the word of the day… not knowing who it is, what it is, and why it is so popular now! ;)

Considered this… my new PC is ready for take off at the reseller’s place. I’m going to pick it up in about 1-2 hours, and then I have to do some major backup of my old PC. What does this mean as next? OF COURSE! Finally there’s the machine to get amazing games. I believe I’ll order World of Warcraft right away!

Just earlier I saw an interesting article that allows people to initiate role-playing more deeply on the servers. That’s quite a neato, and I’ll definately try that out once the game ships here… back home to my safe harbour! The only problem is that amazon will take a few weeks to deliver it in time, and what am I supposed to do else? How am I going to survive in her psychopathic world?
