Update Process
At this time I’m nearly done with approximately 1/3 of all my original entries at Der Sichelputzer Blog. To complete the process of the blog conversion which includes almost 380 entries, I’ll have to insert each of the entries manually to the WordPress blog.
So far, there’s no kind of export function offered in the old software, but I think it’s worth the work because the chance to control the entire database without relying on others is by far more attractive than using a non-controlable tool like the old ones. I know its kind of mean to do this to the techie guys, but I made my decision after being more and more fed up with the idea of using third party software… I’m sorry. :(
Hmmm.
It’s an awful lot of work, with no guarantee that anyone will read past posts. Why not just refer people to your other blog, and cross reference to your other blog where applicable? That way it’s no work, and people can view your other blog as they wish.
Sometimes, especially now while sitting outside of the Uni’s Mensa, I don’t know why I’m doing it, but in the end I prefer to keep all things under one banner. Since WordPress offers me the option to collect everything in a database, I can export and extract (or later on import) all data for any kind of use that I’m dreaming of…. ;)
I will leave the old blog as it is and I’ll include a major notice, but there’s been something creeping around in my mind… I don’t know yet how to define it, but its time for a new era of mine… perhaps.
