Entschuldigung für die Wortwahl, aber die Gefühle gehen mit mir durch! Danke Jamba! Dankt Jamba. Ja, dankt dieser Firma für diesen ausbeuterischen Erguß, diesem Ohrenschmaus der quietschenden Idiotie! Solch eine Beleidigung meiner Sinne! Nun hab ich eben noch darüber geschrieben, ich würde ja heute nicht viel Bloggen wollen, aber verdammt – was haben wir euch alle nur getan? Warum kommt der stumpfe nervtötende Sweety wieder zurück ins Deutsche Jamba-TV Programm von ProSieben? Und dann noch auf Japanisch? Wie pervers ist das denn? Zielgruppendynamische Abzocke und Vernichtung aller Tugenden! Nun auch noch das letzte Geld aus den Taschen der asiatischen Urlauber und aus denen der Mitbürgern ziehen? Auf dem Weg zur Feudal-Anarchie – mit Jamba-TV ist man damit natürlich immer nur in der letzten Reihe!

Why not Blogging? There’s my reason!

Well in fact I played with the thought to contribute some input to the blogosphere, however I decided not to do it! Instead I’ve spent the whole day configuring my new computer. Guess that’s at last one way how to get me off the internet unless Kat’s back in her castle!And it’s really fast – no, not Katharina, but the new computer. I purchased financed it for 790 Euro at a local reseller.

  • 160 GByte HDD
  • Club3D ATI Radeon X800 RX 256MB
  • LG DVD R/W+

So far I tested GTA San Andreas, Call of Duty + United Offensive, Warcraft 3, and the classic Quake3 for the fun of it. All games perform best at their highest and extreme maximum settings. That’s quite the issue, and now I’m searching for useful new games… time to put that PC under pressure! ;)

German Blogger gets threatened by his Troll

One of Germany’s bloggers, Thomas Gigold, got threatened by one of his Trolls A. S.. According to the Troll A.S., today yesterday’s September 13th was Thomas‘ „entire personal fatal day“ („ganz persönlicher Unglückstag”). My advice to such threat is to consult either your lawyer or directly inform the police. This is clearly not legal.

Google Blog Search

As previously reported by John Battelle and Darren Rowse, Google not only announced but published their own Blog Search. The system which is of course a beta works in two different categories as you can separate between searching only Blogger.com blogs or all (rather independent) blogs.

It disturbs me greatly that they still list my old blog upon searching for my own name. And that even if it has the noindex parameters. This is absolutely idiotic, and I’d expect a lot more from Google instead of categorizing their old index. I cannot embed a robots.txt file on that server, and I’d rather prefer to keep the spiders to follow to this blog instead of disabling all of it.

After all, Duncan published a first review of the service, and my own overall experience from using Technorati and IceRocket tell me one thing: Google can’t keep up with their advantage yet. And I hope that none of these good services are going to be sold to Google. I believe that many users would jump off just for such move. ;) The index of Google Blog Search is too small, and the fact of ignoring my own personal preference of opting out with my old blog and still listing the outdated version just annoys me. Grrrrowwwgle Blog Search doesn’t make me happy at all!

Firefox Extension Problem

Beware of the young birds before using them. As Robert reports, the current Firefox 1.5 Beta1 disables any extensions upon installing. There is no warning on the Firefox Website about that nasty glitch. I noticed some difference while updating from the last stable release to the Beta 1 but haven’t thought much about it – now I know.

Perhaps it depends on the version you’ve been using before, and as far as I guess, Robert was using a german-language variant of Firefox 1.0.6 – not sure how that reacts with the english version tho! However, there seems to be a workaround:

In the address bar type about:config
In the Filter line type: app.extensions.version
Now you should have a single line in the preferences saying app.extensions.version. If it does not exist just right click on the empty list and select New->String to create one
Now double click the value and set the value to 1.0 (from 1.5)

Note this is just a temporary solution and some extensions might crash Firefox – so be careful with this solution.

Die Bloggerwahlparty 05

So muss es sein! Wenn die Prominenz aus der Politik es uns seit Jahren vor machen kann, ist Klein-Bloggersdorf noch lange nicht auf die Nase gefallen. Daher lädt Sandra Wiegard am kommenden Sonntagabend zur Bloggerwahlparty ein! Die Bedingungen sind einfach und für jeden machbar, sofern man entweder Autor oder Leser von Blogs ist. Nebenbei sollte man auch für Speis und Trank sorgen, was bitte in der jeweiligen Parteifarbe (oder Koalitionsfarbe) mitzubringen ist. Ich würde mich wohl auch für Rotwein und einen Guacamole-Dip entscheiden.

Auch wenn keine Köpfe eingeschlagen werden, wenn jemand mal Schwarzen Peter und gelblichen Zitronensaft trinken mag, scheint’s wohl in Hamburg schon kurz vor Wahlschluss abzugehen! Viel Spaß dabei, und hätte ich Benzin im Tank, wäre ich bestimmt auch in den Süden gefahren! ;)

Digg.com: This is your Death

Nearly two weeks after my resumee about Digg.com’s downfall, the service is yet again down. I guess I’m going to give up and concentrate on some of the more reliable services instead of wasting my time in awaiting the establishment of a connection to their bug server.

This is ridiculous. If that’s an excuse for maintenance, it’s surely the worst I’ve ever seen. Did the hosting provider suspend the account for the overload of worldwide diggers? Seems like it!

Update: There’s some rumor over at Bart’s Blog about a Denial of Service attack on Digg. Well if that’s the case, there must be someone out there who hates the Digg community?!

Multi-Millionen-Geldmaschine

… so der liebe Dieter Bohlen über Modern Talking. Zu sehen ist das Talkspektakel auf der ARD bei Beckmann. Irgendwie ist es alter Schmarn von gestern, und über das zweite Bohlenbuch noch zu reden, interessiert doch nur die Historiker. Wie schön, dass es auch etwas anderes gibt, was Persönlichkeitsrechte zu verletzen scheint. Nicht Dieter Bohlen, sondern Thomas Gigold ist der neue Star in der Riege des Bösen. Bohlen hat zwar keine Angst die Wahrheit zu sagen, aber wenn er weiterhin nach seiner Auszeit so dämliches von sich gibt, ist es doch wieder nur eine dicke fettige Friko, die mir am Ohr klebt. Das… genau das… das macht mich wahnsinnig!

CSU E-Mail Spam

The CSU, one of Germany’s major political parties, announced to use e-mail advertisement to gain more votes. I think that’s nothing else but spamming the people with political propaganda. Not only the idea is most stupid due to the advantages of technology to determine and detect spam, but the impersonal manner of connecting their major candidate, Edmund Stoiber, with the people is a sapping task.

According to Blog4Berlin, the CSU will not rely on the rather traditional methods of posting bills and holding enunciations. Instead, they prefer to use more modern advertisements in their canvassing for Germany’s election on next weekend. Approximately 300.000 e-mails and several thousand voice-mails will be sent throughout the country.

eBay accquired Skype

Rumors became truth: eBay bought Skype for approximately $2,6 billion with another optional $1,5 billion which will be paid upon reaching predefine goals for Skype. The major idea behind this deal is to integrate the Skype technology to ease the communication between the auction partneres on eBay. With already 54 million users and 150.000 new subscribers per day, Skype is the leading company for VoIP software in over 225 countries.

The combination of eBay’s and Skype’s technology will emerge in a powerful ecommerce and communications engine. After integrating internet shop portals such as Shopping.com or Rent.com, PayPal became a major player for handling eBays online transactions. According to their press-release, a PayPal wallet associated with each Skype account could make it much easier for users to pay for Skype fee-based services, adding to the number of PayPal accounts and increasing payment volume.

I do honestly wonder if this deal will become a problem for anybody who is already using Skype for free – without paying for SkypeOut services…
