Today I received my invite by Anonymuis to become a WordPress.com-User! I was quite excited to test-try-and-error the newish system and created my new account named BeLoved. I plan to write on this account with a third person perspective, and aggregate thoughts which don’t really belong to the MikeSchnoor.com at all. But as being a user on WordPress.com, I noticed a few things that keep upsetting me. Not in an angry way, but I’m missing functionality from this installation here. While the optical illusions of the new semi Web2.0 interface are quite handy for adding new posts and editing the old ones, there is no chance to install plugins or other themes such as a fully customized one.

On top of this, I made the following two feedbacks to the WordPress.com administration:

Redirect Problem
Upon using „http://beloved.wordpress.com/wp-admin“, it redirects me to „http://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=%2Fwp-admin%2F“… ;) Its no real problem for me, but perhaps for other people, since the redirected URL won’t let me sign up with my username.

User Management?
There seems to be no chance to add more users to my account on this multiple-user-based plattform. I mean – I cannot maintain the blog being accompanied by my beloved girlfriend, and my original thoughts about creating the BeLoved-Blog cannot be met anymore. Is there any chance of being able to add a sub-user to my account or is this one of my irresistable hopes and wishes?

I’m curious on their answers, and we’ll see what happens with my BeLoved account.

I thought it’s a useful addition to the MikeSchnoor.com’s entire site to include an active list of all plugins being used here. The most recent additions are PHP Exec to execute special PHP commands, Related Posts to show any useful ressources which have been published prior to the original post, Jerome’s Keywords to tag all posts, and WPG2 to embed the Gallery2 software nicely into the blog’s layout. ;)

I finally made it and installed the new version of Gallery 2. You can view the whole system integrated into WordPress by clicking above on the Gallery link! The only issue that is missing is to truely embed the Gallery into the layout – which seems to suffer from the various included stylesheets from the templates. Well, I guess that’s one for the morning, and not this night!

This is so retro. I created a new blog over at Blogger and don’t know what to do with it yet. It looks funny, and it caused me already a lot of annoyance, but I’ll stick with it. In order to keep track of everything, I’ll co-brand the MikeSchnoor.com with my new Rendili service. I just noticed they don’t offer the option to enter a title. Weird…

Why choosing Blogger or Blogspot now?

I honestly don’t know. As regular user of my own WordPress installation, I’ve become interested in other software tools. For now, I have begun using Blogger on the Blogspot.com domain for myself. Originally I was trying to support Shirazi with the lack of trackback functionality on this service. I can’t tell if this account is worth more than just this test or another one, but I’m going to contribute this article to the original blog at the MikeSchnoor.com to keep track of myself.

What to expect from Rendili?

No clue. Rendili is special for me. It’s been a joyful word of my younger days, and I’m keen on using it more and more.

That’s been the first entry of Rendili. Whew…

Finally I’ve had the chance to updatethe WordPress software here. I’m quite glad that we’ve got already access to the web via ISDN. The entire show took me 45 Minutes including all kinds of downloads – probably the ISDN isn’t as fast as it should be. The speed went down quite often. Nevertheless, it’s been quite the job to wait patiently for all files to be uploaded and initialized just to run properly. I just beg for a time without the need to upload files to the webserver until we’ll have the DSL!

(z.B. http://www.m-e-x.de/blog/index.php/archives/2005/06/03/
wordpress-anti-spam-plugin-bad-behavior-update-auf-101/?s=behavior), was aber nicht die eigentliche Suchroutine ansteuert, die im index.php erst dann aktiviert ist, wenn keine der üblichen Blog-Funktionen aufgerufen wird.

<form action=“<?php echo $_SERVER[‚PHP_SELF‘]; ?>“ method=“get“>
manuell geändert zu
<form action=“/blog/index.php“ method=“get“>
